Traditionally, those years when July 25 is on a Sunday are called Ano Xacobeo in Galicia (Spain). Santiago de Compostela’s Cathedral becomes the destination of thousands of pilgrims who go walking or biking from different points of Spain between Santiago and Roncesvalles. This is the so-called Camino de Santiago.

Today, our friends from the Fundación Tecnología Social (Social Technology Foundation) started their own adventure named El camino de los satellites.

The singularity of this initiative is that gathers people with functional diversity -therefore, risk of technological exclusion- and IT amateurs.

Among other activities, the pilgrims will use GPS and BIDI codes for orientation and social networks and daily IPTV connections to share their experiences. Moreover, Innovalley supports this expedition and contributed a solar bag prototype to charge their smartphones, PDAs,…

Good luck to all participants! We hope that this first step together with the Fundación Tecnología Social will be one of many on our path to a technological society without exclusions. We are sure we’ll get there!
