Traditionally, those years when July 25 is on a Sunday are called Ano Xacobeo in Galicia (Spain). Santiago de Compostela’s Cathedral becomes the destination of thousands of pilgrims who go walking or biking from different points of Spain between Santiago and Roncesvalles.This is the so-called Camino de Santiago.

Today, our friends from the Fundación Tecnología Social (Social Technology Foundation) started their own adventure named El camino de los satellites.

The singularity of this initiative is that gathers people with functional diversity -therefore, risk of technological exclusion- and IT amateurs.

Among other activities, the pilgrims will use GPS and BIDI codes for orientation and social networks and daily IPTV connections to share their experiences. Moreover, Innovalley  supports this expedition and contributed a solar bag prototype to charge their smartphones, PDAs,…

Good luck to all participants! We hope that this first step together with the Fundación Tecnología Social will be one of many  on our path to a technological society without exclusions. We are sure we’ll get there!

During last week I did an Internship at Innovalley.

My school offers to the 10th graders the opportunity to apply to a company and get the experience of how corporate work is like. I think it’s a really good idea, so the teenagers can learn how to make better decisions about the future. It helps you decide what to study at University and what kind of job to apply in the future.

I made a demo of one of their products, the GPShoes. I like the idea a lot, because the shoes can guide you from one place to another without looking at your smartphone.

I loved the experience, because I learned a lot of things: how to work as a team, how to manage a whole creative project and how to use better my Laptop (Photoshop, iMovie….). The experience was great, because I had the chance to share five days with really nice people, all Entrepreneurs who left Europe to live in the Silicon Valley. Everybody has really good & creative ideas. I enjoyed this week because I could talk always in Spanish and I learned a lot while having fun.

Yesterday night, Innovalley was one of the exhibitors at the Digital Summer San Francisco, an event that brought together fashion designers, entrepreneurs, and technology professionals from San Francisco. The sponsors showcased their last innovations while attendees networked and enjoyed the music.

The central part of the event was the fashion show from Collen Quen Couture, Jan Warnock, Harputs OWN and Sofie Olgaard, which included the presentation of YouShine. A model wore one of our solar bags that are going to be launched very soon through Innovalley’s online store.

We had a lot of fun, we met great people and we were happy to confirm the huge interest that YouShine raises. Thanks so much to the organizers and sponsors for yesterday’s fantastic event!

We are very happy to see our partner Cooked in Barcelona on the Spanish newspaper La Vanguardia.

Cooked in Barcelona is going through a funding round in order to meet the ambitious goals that they have for the next 3 years. The company is planning to reach 6M revenues in this period of time, increasing the number of stores around Spain and the exports to Italy and United States. They are also going to provide their stores with sophisticated IT systems (RFID) that help manage the stock and tailor the customer service.

Moreover, the partnership and collaboration with Innovalley is one of the axes for their 3-year strategy. Together, we are going to keep innovating in the fashion industry.
