Yesterday, we had the pleasure to meet the winners of the Yuzz Program!

Yuzz is a contest for young entrepreneurs (under 25) who have a technology-based idea. The organizers selected 10 talented entrepreneurs from Barcelona and Madrid and offered them the chance to accelerate their business ideas guided by excellent professionals and well-known entrepreneurs. As part of the prize, they got the opportunity to come to Silicon Valley for a week  in order to develop their international skills, get to know other entrepreneurs and learn about the way business is done here.

Innovalley organized an Innovation session with them. We first presented the company in a 10-minute pitch. We also talked about how we understand and manage innovation within the company. And finally, we proposed them with a challenge: they had to work in two teams and develop a new product or service built on top of a piece of Innovalley technology. In less than one and a half hour they had to define a problem, a solution and a business model. They presented their ideas in front of the other group and the jury who evaluated the results.

The winner hasn’t been revealed yet, but we are impressed by the talent of the two teams and the ideas they developed. This is, once more, an example of how enriching collaboration and open innovation can be.

We are very happy to have Judit and Jacobo among us.

Originally from Mataró, Spain, they came to Silicon Valley where they intern for Innovalley’s engineering team.

Judit has been programming most of her life. She just graduated from Escola Universitaria Politècnica de Mataró (EUPMT) and has experience in web development, SEO, accessibility, social media and Community Management.

Jacobo holds a Telecommunication degree and he is studying to obtain the Computer Science degree. He co-founded his first company, Cetrex, when he was 25 years old. He is an expert in web development, PHP and Java programming.

We have great news!

Innovalley participated in the HIT Barcelona last week. HIT Barcelona is a global summit that integrates spaces dedicated to knowledge, revolutionary ideas and great business opportunities. For two days, it brought together business leaders, innovators, investors and entrepreneurs to share ideas, promote projects and redefine the keys factors for their businesses.

We took part in the Growth Companies Showcase which was an excellent way to interact with potential customers, partners and investors, getting great contacts and valuable feedback. And we are very happy because the Global Judge Committee selected Innovalley as the company that provides the greatest social value in our category (IT/Media).

We are thrilled to announce that Innovalley was the winner at the Innovate! Barcelona Pitch Slam, which was held yesterday at Barcelona Activa. After twelve Innovate!100 semifinalists pitched their startups, the judges tallied the G/Scores and Innovalley was named winner of the Pitch Slam, becoming the newest member of the Innovate!100 list of the 100 most promising technology startups.
